Seven Year Itch

No, not that kind of itch.  Itching with excitement!  Monday, May the 18th, D & I celebrated our seventh wedding anniversary.  It made me think back over the last seven years..  all the laughter and tears, the work and the fun.  I said my vows seven years ago, but never thought that it would be better than that day.  Boy, was I wrong!  These years have been amazing!!

We have logged many miles in the car and in the air...  trips to Jamaica, to Disney World, all over Florida, several to Charleston,...  one crazy trip to Jackson, MS then to Biloxi (where I went into anaphylaxis, rushed from the casino to the ER) then to Destin, on to Ocean Hammock, FL for a wedding and then back home.  Steeplechase and the Masters.  Parties for friends, parties for us...  I surprised D with a 35th poker bash and he surprised me with a 30th birthday dinner.

Two houses purchased and renovated.  Two dogs purchased and now practically neglected.  Three, I think, Wagoneers purchased... that was the angriest I ever got over the last seven years.  Losing D's daddy was the saddest.  My abdominal surgery when G was 11 weeks old, the most grateful.  Not every husband would pump your breast milk for you, without a single complaint.  Four jobs for me, two for him.  Many, many books for both of us - he collects & reads a few, a collect a few and read a lot.

We have supported each other with many service projects - he has Habitat, the Treehouse Project, Communities in Schools and many more.  I have Junior Service League, Network Service Center, and many more.  I admire his giving nature and try not to be jealous of the time spent elsewhere.

Our greatest achievement has been our little Hilton Head souvenir:  little G man.  He has my eyes & fierce independence and D's bone structure & loving nature.

Seven years has given us many hugs & kisses, and many accomplishments and joys.  I can only hope for seventy more.  Amazing!!
