Time Is On My Side

Since I have some time on my hands...  I have been making a mental list of all of the things that I really need to do that I never have the time to do or things that are long past over due.  Now, it is time to publish it.  I am much more apt to do it if I have made it "public."

  1. Work out.  Last week I worked on the Elliptical a couple of times and this week I plan on 3 days of DVD cardio.  I did it Monday and could barely move yesterday, but I am going to workout again today.
  2. Clean.  I am going to keep my house clean.  My laundry is caught up and the house is not messy, but I mean clean, clean.  Like sweeping and mopping and toilets sparking clean.  (I hate cleaning but I hate a dirty house more.)
  3. Scrapbook G for 2008.  I have completed all but one month of 2007.  Now I need to work on last year.  I really enjoyed the scrap booking which I always thought that I would hate because sometimes it is too much visually.  But once I realized that it was all my creation and I didn't have to make it fussy, well...  I loved it.  I also need to take more photos of G.
  4. Be organized.  Right now I have 8 Rubbermaid tubs on the basement floor filled with papers: shred, file, bills from 2004 to 2008, and random "stuff" that needs a home.  Fortunately the shred bin is the biggest.  I might be taking a gamble but I don't think that I need my tax returns from 1994-1998 when I was in college!!
  5. Projects.  There are a ton of small "house projects" that need to be done: wallpaper the upstairs bath, paint the downstairs bath, paint G's bedroom accessories, paint and recover the bench in the kitchen, hang pictures,...  you get the idea.  And now that the pool table is gone, I have a HUGE basement to work with.  Maybe G's playroom should move from the sun porch to the basement?
  6. Journal.  I need to use my prayer journal more "religiously"....  meaning more often.  I go in fits and spurts with it but I need to make it part of my routine.
  7. Volunteer.  I do things, but I need to do more.  Especially now that our community is really feeling the pinch of unemployment, there are more people in need.  I want to be there for them.
  8. and finally...  Read.  I read a lot already.  But I want to read things that I wouldn't normally pick up.  I want to expand my horizon.
So what do you think?  I think it is a workable list. Now...  I need to drink some water so I can go "fat blast" my behind.
