Beach Blessings

Last week, my family took a trip to the beach with friends. We had a blast! G-man played with his buddies, we played in the sand, jumped the surf, swam in the pool, ate without regard to schedule or nutritional content, and laughed and played some more. It was fabulous. And, not only did we enjoy our trip, we enjoyed our friends!

It isn't always easy to travel with friends, and adding the needs & wants of little ones only complicates it more. However, this particular trip with these particular friends was such a blessing. They are laid back like us and their two girls tolerated G and his craziness so well. Friends like that aren't easy to come by! I think that we are all planning and looking forward to Part Deux!

There is nothing like the sunshine, salty air and sand to make all your worries float away while you are beachin' it. And I was reminded of how blessed my family is... we have an income (although not what it was, but we are making it), we have the necessities, we have friends and family, and we have faith. It is so easy to scoot through your day according to the CALENDAR without taking the time to remember your blessings! Vacation, for me, is a time I can sit back, relax and watch my little boy experience his childhood. I can read a good book (or two). I can watch the sunrise/sunset, if I choose. I can sit in my pajamas until mid-morning. And this last week, I was able to chat and laugh with friends. Life is full of blessings!!
